Chemical-Free Sun Protection
You know that sunscreen is a must, all day, every day! But you have the option to use a sunscreen that is non-toxic to your skin. Many chemical sunscreens contain ingredients that give the sunscreen a better consistency, but there is evidence that some of these ingredients are hormone disrupters or carcinogenic.

Toxic Sunburn Protection
Conventional sunscreen contains toxic chemicals, parabens, known carcinogens, and oxybenzone, which is meant to absorb ultraviolet light but is also absorbed through your skin. The EWG says 56% of beach and sport sunscreens contain the chemical oxybenzone which penetrates the skin, gets into the bloodstream and acts like estrogen in the body. It can also trigger allergic reactions. Data are preliminary, but studies have found a link between higher concentrations of oxybenzone and health harms.
If you do prefer the idea of chemical-free sunscreens, there's one ingredient to look for: Zinc oxide, an effective physical blocker. It is the only ingredient you need for excellent broad-spectrum protection!
