Rhassoul Clay

What are the benefits of Rhassoul Clay?

Sourced from Morocco, Rhassoul Clay (also known as Ghassoul Clay) has been used for centuries by people in North Africa and the Middle East. For those who love clays and their detoxifying and purifying properties, Rhassoul clay is an exquisite and versatile clay that you’ll fall in love with. One major difference between Rhassoul clay and some other healing clays is that it can only be used topically and is not for internal consumption.

Rhassoul clay is a natural mineral product composed mostly of Stenensite, a clay mineral made of magnesium silicate. Its unique chemical composition gives it saponifier properties. This basically means that it has soap-like properties which allow it to absorb surface and pore impurities, toxins, and grease. It is used for detoxifying, cleansing, and reducing dryness as well for both skin and hair.

How Rhassoul Clay is used

Rhassoul clay is nourishing and deeply cleansing at the same time. It helps even out skin tone and reduce blemishes and hyperpigmentation as well. It also improves the elasticity of skin while reducing blackheads and skin dryness/flakiness as well. With an extremely high content of silica and magnesium, it is great for skin and hair, and can be used daily instead of soap and shampoo since it cleanses without stripping any natural and beneficial oils.

Rhassoul clay absorbs excess sebum in skin that overproduces oil and balances sebum production. This reduces acne and breakouts. It leaves skin brighter and healthier. It also has toning properties since it draws out impurities from deep within pores and shrinks them leaving skin with smaller looking pores. It also works wonderfully on dry and flaky skin. It gently exfoliates skin, softens and smoothens it, while intensely hydrating it as well.

Rhassoul clay is wonderful and deeply nourishing shampoo as well. It moisturizes and softens hair. It reduces hair dryness while deeply cleansing the scalp of toxins, impurities, and product buildup. Its exfoliating properties cleanse the scalp of dead cells and unblock scalp pores as well. It soothes scalp conditions like dandruff and psoriasis while reducing flakiness and helping detangle hair.

Its detoxifying abilities help Rhassoul clay absorb grease and excess sebum from hair and scalp without over-drying either. It keeps the nourishing natural oils intact and retains the integrity of keratin and hair follicles. It is particularly effective for oily hair because of this ability to de-grease the scalp without disrupting the hair shaft. It is a wonderful alternative to the toxic chemical laden commercial shampoos.
